1.   Compliant Solution Architecture  The Blueprints (Solution Architecture):  Description of the system’s operation, traceable between the views.  Defines end-to-end operational effectiveness for the exchange of information .

2.    Compliant with net-centric data and services strategies Brick & Mortar (Net Centric Data and Services Strategies):  Describes the activities, standards and data strategy required to use, operate maintain and manage the net-centric information environment.

3.    Compliant with applicable Global Interface Grid (GIG) technical guidelines Building Codes (Techncial Standards /Interface):  Set of managed technical interface standards – ensuring visibility and stability to  critical interfaces.

4.    Compliant with DoD Information Assurance (IA) requirements Building Inspector (Information Assurance):  Defense Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).

5.    Supportability. Utilities. Compliant with supportability requirements to include spectrum utilization and information bandwidth requirements, Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) and the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) as applicable.  Verify completion of spectrum availability, electromagnetic compatibility, JTRS usage and GPS Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) requirements.

Explain the difference between the various views in the solution architecture, that is, between the "all view," "operational view," "system view," and "technical view.“

Operational View (OV): Describes what needs to be done and who does it, and the information exchanges required

Systems and Services View (SV): Flows from the OV; relates systems, services, and characteristics to operational needs

Technical Standards View (TV): Prescribes the standards and conventions

n  Ensures that a system satisfies a specified set of operational requirements

n  Guidelines upon which engineering specifications are based

n  All View (AV): overarching aspects of an architecture that relate to all three views; sets the scope and context of the architecture

What takes place prior to the Material Solution Analysis (MSA) and then the acquisition process begins?

Capabilitiy delivered in increments (not spirals), recognizing up front need for future capability improvments.

Each increment::

-depnds on mature technology

-is a military useful and supportable operational capability

-Successive Technology Development Phases may be needed to mature technology for multiple increments
